A stunning awards ceremony honoring the top advancements in artificial intelligence marked the conclusion of the 41st global edition of the World AI Show & Awards, organized by Trescon, which took place on June 7-8, 2023, at Jumeirah Emirates Tower in Dubai.
The event, which was sponsored by the Private Office of Sheikh Saeed Bin Ahmed Al Maktoum, brought together top decision-makers and executives who are utilizing technology in novel ways to advance enterprises while generating commercial value and improving the entire customer experience.
The second day of the conference began with a keynote address by Dr. Fethi Felali on how local AI solutions played a revolutionary role during the 2022 Qatar World Cup following an insightful and interesting Day 1.
Everyone paid close attention to the panel discussion on the increase in investments in AI, which was another important session. The panel’s discussion on how AI has sped up economic growth was moderated by Paul Dawalibi, CEO of Holodeck Ventures. The panelists—Sonali Goila, General Manager and Head of Investment at Panthera Capital Investment; Andrea Danila, Founder and General Partner at Global Millennial Capital; Simon Sharp, Partner at Global Venture; Vianney Mathonne, Partner at Modus Capital; and Valerie Hawley, Affiliate Founding Partner at True Global Ventures—discussed the standards for making investments in artificial intelligence and other cutting-edge technologies in great detail.
The event was praised as a source of inspiration, highlighting the enormous potential of AI to upend industries and open up new opportunities, according to Dr. Salim Al-Shuaili, Director of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technology Development Program, Ministry of Transport, Communication, and Information Technology.

Amith Ranjan, Executive Vice-President, Head of Wholesale Digital, Data and Advanced Analytics, Finance Tech, Mashreq Bank, received a special award for “AI leader of the year” at the World AI Awards.
The ‘Women in AI‘ Award was also presented at the gala ceremony. By leveling the playing field in the field of AI and associated technology, women are having a significant impact, and this award is a nod to that. The following people received awards:
